Eyewear Programs
Our eyewear programs consist of three parts:
Part One: Selecting Eyewear
The first component of any program is selecting the frames and lenses and other eyewear program specifications.
Part Two: Determine a Fitting and Dispensing Program
The second step is to decide how the glasses are fit and dispensed. Shannon Optical offers a wide variety of fitting and dispensing programs to ensure your employees are receiving quality products and convenient service.
Part Three: Setting Up A Billing Plan
The final component of a successful program is the billing. Shannon Optical offers flexible payment plans and itemized billing. Our customers prefer this method of billing because it is easy to understand and prevents hidden or double costs.
Types of Programs
In-Plant Optician Program
Shannon Optical schedules a certified optician to visit a facility for regularly scheduled appointments or on an “as-needed basis” to fit and dispense prescription safety eyewear. The on–site optician carries a large selection of frames and is able to collect employee co-pays. This optician will also insure all orders are within program guidelines and maintain all records relevant to the program.
Fitting Center Programs at Off Site Locations:
Participating fitting centers are established for employees for fitting and dispensing of eyewear at their convenience at an off-site location, usually a local eye doctor’s office. The employee brings with them to the fitting center a current prescription and the customized order form outlining program guidelines. The participating fitting center will fill out the form and forward it to Shannon Optical. Shannon Optical processes the eyewear and returns them to the fitting center to be dispensed. The fitting center then contacts the employee to schedule an appointment for dispensing the eyewear.
Mail, Fax, or Online Order Programs
The employee schedules an eye exam with their own eye doctor and brings
with them a customized order form outlining program guidelines. The
doctor’s office will fill out the form. The employee returns
the form to the company's Safety Eyeglass Administrator, who forwards the order
to Shannon Optical. Shannon Optical processes the glasses and returns
the glasses to a location of choice: a doctor’s office, the Safety
Eyeglass Administrator at the plant or to the employee’s home.
